It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Ready to get into the holiday spirit? With a variety of holiday events in full swing around Ottawa, there’s something for everybody to enjoy.
Alight at Night
Take a trip to Upper Canada Village to see almost a million lights at Alight at Night. Kids will love visiting with Santa, taking a spin on the merry-go-round ride, and going for a ride in horse-drawn wagons! But this event isn’t just for kids. Adults can enjoy romantic carriage rides, shopping, carolling, and festive dining.
Christmas Glow Ottawa
Not a fan of the cold weather? This is the event for you! This indoor winter wonderland features live entertainment, interactive light gardens and structures and a “Glow Around the World” You can even pick up Christmas gifts from vendors and enjoy food and drinks. This event will run from December 5th to January 4th.
Ottawa Christmas Market
The first European-style Christmas Market in Ottawa is here! Attend the launch to view the traditional lighting of the Lansdowne Christmas tree while enjoying Canadian artist, Chantal Kreviazuk’s live performance of her new Christmas album. The market offers thousands of Christmas lights, live entertainment, local craftsmen, vendors, local craftsmen, delicious baked goods, and seasonal food and drinks. The market promises to appeal to adults and families alike, with family-friendly daytime activities followed by adult fun in the evenings. The market will run from Fridays to Sundays until December 22.
Magic of Lights
Want to check out more than 300 light displays without getting out of your car or breaking the bank? This is the event for you! This budget- friendly event lets you enjoy the 2 km light show with a single fee for everyone in your Magic of Lights will run until January 4 at Wesley Clover Parks in Nepean.
Miracle
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season with a Christmas cocktail at Miracle At The Savoy Brasserie. The bar boasts over the top Christmas decorations and music, ugly sweaters, and seasonal cocktails! And,for each drink sold, The Salvation Army Toy Mountain will receive one dollar to help struggling families in the Ottawa Region.
Christmas Lights Across Canada
Ottawa’s downtown streets and monument sites will glow with hundreds of thousands of lights during Christmas Lights Across Canada! Be sure to make a stop at Parliament Hill to watch the projection light show that will run every evening until January 7.
Stanley’s Christmas Village
Head to Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm to experience holiday fun through the eyes of an elf! This event is perfect for kids and those who are still kids at heart. Upon your arrival, you will be whisked away on a horse-drawn carriage to an enchanted village where you will be greeted by the elves. Explore the village, sing songs, play games, drop off your letter to Santa, visit the cookie kitchen, and warm up by the bonfire! The event will run until December 22.
