With over 15 shopping centres located throughout the city, it has just about anything you could want or need. If you’re new to Ottawa, here are the top shopping destinations to add to your “must visit” list.
Rideau Shopping Centre
The Rideau Shopping Centre is one of the most popular shopping centres throughout the Ottawa area, welcoming close to 20 million visitors each year. It’s located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, near Parliament Hill. This happening hangout is the perfect spot to buy some goods and then head out to explore the bustling streets of the city. The shopping centre offers 170 retailers, including Nordstrom and the new Simons expansion. The dining hall was rebuilt a few years ago and features all sorts of goodies like Meltdown, Big Smoke Burger, and Amaya Express. If you haven’t heard yet, Ottawa’s first Chipotle opened in the Rideau Centre back in February!
Bayshore Shopping Centre
Bayshore Shopping Centre is a one-stop shopping destination. It is easily accessible to Nepean, Kanata, and all of Ottawa’s west end. This mall has undergone a recent expansion project and is now home to a diverse range of over 160 services and retailers, such as Jack & Jones, Sephora and Swarovski.
St. Laurent Shopping Centre
St. Laurent Shopping Centre is located east of downtown, offering over 190 stores, services and dining options, including art supplies stores, Toys R US, The Hudson’s Bay and so much more. This popular shopping district is the largest in terms of square footage, and is becoming one of the busiest as well.
Place D’Orleans is located in the eastern end of Ottawa in the community of Orleans. It is East Ottawa’s premier shopping destination, housing over 170 stores and services, along with a large food court and great dining options. It offers a wide range of popular brands including many national favourites such as The Bay.
The city of Ottawa has so much to offer, no matter what you are interested in. If you’re new to Ottawa and are looking to shop, it has a wide range of destinations for you to choose from, located all throughout the city.
